Chiropractic care for Ferndown

Our chiropractic clinic is in Verwood, about five miles from Ferndown and roughly ten minutes by road. We are not in Ferndown itself, and we would rather say so than imply a presence in the town we do not have.

Ferndown is the largest town in our catchment, with a population of about 17,650, and one of the easiest places to reach us from. It is also a town with plenty of choice already, so the people who come to us are usually looking for something specific rather than something nearer.

What we do differently is steady the joint that is being pulled out of position, rather than loosening or stretching it. It is a defined course of four treatments with a compulsory review at the fourth, not an open-ended plan, and you know the cost before you agree to anything.

Many Ferndown patients have already tried a generalist clinic. Around two thirds of everyone we treat had been through another therapy first, so arriving here having already tried things is the normal position, not an awkward one.

Start with the free 15-minute assessment. We will tell you honestly whether we expect this to help, and if we are not the right people for your problem we will say where to go instead.

Getting here

About 10 minutes from Ferndown

Where we are

Bank Court, 12 Manor Road, Verwood, BH31 6DY. Roughly 5 miles from Ferndown, north out of the town.

Parking

There is parking at the clinic at Bank Court, so an appointment does not start with a circuit of a car park.

Getting seen

No referral and no waiting list. Appointments are usually available the same week, including a later slot on Tuesdays.

What makes this easier/comfortable from what you have tried before

Not because the profession is different, but because of how this clinic works — the part that is worth ten minutes when you already have clinics nearer.

No exercise programme to take home

You will not leave with a sheet of exercises to get through. That is deliberate. We steady the joint first.

Precise, instrument-assisted adjustments

Adjustments are made with instruments rather than purely by hand to make it more comfortable and easy for you. Very small, measured movements to one specific joint, and nothing else which makes rapid response more likely in our experience. The attention to detail is the point.

The same protocols, whoever you see

Every practitioner at the clinic follows the same documented protocols. What you get does not depend on which clinician you happen to be booked with.

Short appointments, and few of them

Treatments are 15 minutes. Most people are managed with occasional appointments once the initial course is done, rather than an open-ended weekly commitment.

Our mandatory review

Every course has a compulsory review at the fourth appointment

We have always done this. At your fourth appointment we look at whether your pain has eased, whether you can do more, or both.

If nothing has changed, we refer you for further clinical investigation rather than carry on treating.

treatments in the Foundation Phase, including the review. A defined course, not an open-ended plan.

64%

had already tried other therapies before they came to us

came to us with back pain. It is what we deal with day in, day out.

The adjustment

Gentle, considered care

Every adjustment is made with instruments, which lets us put a small, controlled amount of movement into one specific joint therefore being very precise and repeatable. That precision is the point: and attention to details gives the best result in our experience. We have found this delivers the most comfortable, considered, easy and rapid response. When you are treated, you either lay flat face down or stay sitting upright, fully clothed, and each step is explained before it happens.

Joe runs the day-to-day clinical work and is who you are most likely to be booked in with. He was treated by David as a teenager, which is what inspired him into chiropractic. Before seeing patients independently, he benefited from the rare opportunity to observe hundreds of cases alongside David. While most practitioners gain experience primarily through treating their own patients, this extensive period of observation allowed him to develop a remarkably detailed understanding of the Frameworks approach and its practical application. GCC registered (No. 06124), and a member of the British Chiropractic Association.

Ferndown: common questions

About five miles, or roughly ten minutes by road, into Verwood. That holds for both the assessment and the four treatments that follow, which is what matters over a two-to-four-week course.

Only for the method: very small, instrument-assisted adjustments aimed at steadying a joint, in a course with a defined end and a known cost. If what you are having already works, stay where you are.

No. Adjustments are made using instruments that allow us to create very small, precise movements. This emphasises what we believe is the need for gentle, easy and considered care.

There is no cracking, forceful thrust or sudden manipulation. When you are treated, you either lie flat on your front or remain seated upright, fully clothed.

The Foundation Phase is four treatments over two to four weeks, £228 for the course. The fourth treatment includes a mandatory review after which many patients are seen occasionally rather than on an ongoing plan, and how often is discussed individually.

No. You can book the free 15-minute assessment directly, and appointments are usually available the same week.
