A different way to treat musculoskeletal pain

Frameworks is a specialist MSK clinic. The method was built by our founder, Dr David Eldridge, over more than three decades of clinical practice.

Founder

Dr David Eldridge

David trained first as a physiotherapist before qualifying as a chiropractor.

Early in his career, David became frustrated by seeing patients whose symptoms repeatedly returned. This prompted a decades-long effort to develop a different clinical approach—one focused on identifying and addressing the underlying structural factors that may contribute to musculoskeletal problems.

Over the following three decades, he developed and refined the clinical method that underpins Frameworks today.

The approach is precise, low-impact, and focuses on identifying and addressing structural and biomechanical factors that may be contributing to pain and dysfunction, rather than focusing solely on symptom relief. It was influenced in part by David's work in elite sport, where treatment needed to support athletes' return to performance while minimising disruption to training and competition. The same principles now inform the care provided to every patient at Frameworks.

David continues to see patients through consultancy clinics and chairs the clinic's multidisciplinary advisory Board, helping to ensure the Frameworks approach remains informed by current musculoskeletal research.

The name

The framework everything else works around

The skeleton is the body's framework. At Frameworks, we believe that addressing underlying structural and biomechanical factors can be an important part of helping patients overcome musculoskeletal problems. That's why our clinic is called Frameworks: everything starts with the framework the body is built on. This is also why we have a clear approach to addressing this framework, the skeleton, and correct the consistent patterns we see in patients with pain and dysfunction, where that framework is mal-positioned and causing stresses on joints. Our clinic's name reflects our philosophy.

Our advisory board

A multidisciplinary Board behind every treatment

Frameworks isn't one practitioner's opinion. The method is shaped by a board that spans MSK medicine, orthopaedics, elite sport and mental health, so the care you receive reflects more than one point of view.

Dr Chris Batty

Dr Chris Batty

Orthopaedic & MSK medicine

A GP specialising in orthopaedics and MSK conditions, who met David on the Sports Medicine Masters course. The longest-serving doctor in the football league, and current medic for a Championship football club. Consistency is what allowed Chris to confidently refer patients to Frameworks Clinics. He knows exactly what each patient will receive, whoever they see.

Paul Maxwell-Bown

Mental health & wellbeing

A mental health specialist whose role on the Board focuses on the psychological impact of ongoing musculoskeletal problems and prolonged treatment journeys. His perspective is informed by his own experience as a patient, where other specialist interventions had not brought meaningful improvement to MSK issues.

Dr David Eldridge

Dr Eldridge is a registered chiropractor, regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (Reg No. 00206) and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors and the British Chiropractic Association.

David also studied postgraduately in Sports Medicine (Nottingham Medical School) and clinical research (AECC), with a background in elite sport including Harlequins RFC and other sports to a county level.

David's mission statement

“I founded this clinic because I wanted to change the way people experience musculoskeletal care. Over the years, I noticed that many patients felt overwhelmed by long, open-ended treatment plans that lacked clear goals or timelines. I believed there was a better, more transparent way to help people get back to feeling their best.

That is why I developed our consistent 4-step framework. I wanted to give our patients a clear, structured path so they know exactly what to expect at every single visit.

I also wanted to make care as gentle and accessible as possible.

Most importantly, I wanted to build a clinic based on complete honesty and safety. Our 4-session protocol and our strict GP referral policy are there to make sure your health always comes first. We are here to provide dedicated, professional support on your journey toward better posture and meaningful pain relief.”

Dr Joe Sanyal, Lead Practitioner at Frameworks Clinic

Clinic lead practitioner

Dr Joe Sanyal

Dr Sanyal is a registered chiropractor, regulated by the General Chiropractic Council and a member of the British Chiropractic Association.

Dr Joe Sanyal leads the day to day clinical work at Frameworks. He was treated by David as a child, an experience that inspired him to pursue a career in chiropractic.

After graduating and gaining experience in other clinical settings, Joe found himself drawn to the patient centred approach he had experienced first-hand at Frameworks. When the opportunity arose to join the clinic and work alongside David, he was keen to become part of the team.

Before seeing patients independently, he benefited from the rare opportunity to observe hundreds of cases alongside David. While most practitioners gain experience primarily through treating their own patients, this extensive period of observation allowed him to develop a remarkably detailed understanding of the Frameworks approach and its practical application.
